Cheetah 5K and Cincinnati Zoo!

Today Erin and I ran the Cheetah Run 5K at the Cincinnati Zoo. We rose bright and early to run the race at 8:00am in a chilly 50 degrees! Brett was nice enough to take pictures for us and hold all the bags :)

We looped back by the start and were SO bunched up in the group that I had plenty of time to look over and strike a goofy running pose and face for Brett! Unfortunatly we were stuck in this group for almost a mile before we could finally set a good pace, so our time wasn't as great, but it was a beautiful run!

Just finished! What an awesome and challenging course! You run through the zoo and it is full of many hills. But you could see animals out in their habitats while running by, very cool!
I'm proud to report that I finished 183rd out of 911 women! So this was a big accomplishment for me! Next year, we'll plan better and start at the back so we won't get caught in the big group. It was very cool in the fact that we had our own digital time, so it wasn't from the start gun- thankfully so because we didn't get to start running until 2 minutes after the gun!

After the race we changed clothes and then spent the day at the zoo! We haven't been to the Cincinnati Zoo, at least not when it's light out or when we're old enough to remember so I'd been looking forward to it. We started at the Cheetah Show since it was part of the Cheetah Run!

We got to watch the Cheetah chase a "toy" around the yard showing off it's speed! It was very cool. This is Sarah, the fastest cheetah in captivity!

White Tiger! He woke up just in time for us to see him

The King of the Jungle!! He was dreaming during his nap and it was very funny to watch. If you look closely you can see his tongue hanging out!

We had such a fun time, the weather was wonderfully cool and it was nice to spend the morning with friends!
