Settling in

Well it's been awhile since we posted last and wanted to update you on the life and times of Brett and Brooke!! NOT MUCH is going on here!! :)haha Just getting all settled in and enjoying Florida a bit! Here are some pictures from the last month!
Here we finally have our bedroom suite in it's entirety!! At first we didn't have our mattresses, so we just slept in the bed frame on an air mattress on the floor! But after a few days our brand new mattresses were delivered! We now can "climb" into bed! Sits quite high!! Here is Brett, Sabo and Sophia enjoying our new bed! After this we took some gift cards and went to Bed Bath and Beyond and got our Duvet cover! We love our down comforter, so comfy!!!
Sabo was in QUITE the lovey mood this particular afternoon! What a sap. His new favorite thing is to jump from the bed into his "top bunk" which you can see over by the window. Poor "top bunk" won't take much more of 15 pounds landing in it. It will be a sad day when that thing breaks!!

Next on the list was introductions!! It took quite a few days to introduce Peanut- Taylor's cat- and our 3 cats. Sabo, Maximus and Sophia couldn't care less about the new little fluffball, but Peanut was none too pleased with 3 fat ogres in her House!! I'm happy to report that they now are pretty decent buddies and chase each other through the condo! Peanut likes to come into the "playroom" better known as our bedroom, to play with all our cats toys! I tend to find a few around the condo that she has taken for herself!
The first few days we had Peanut stay on one side of the glass doors while our 3 stayed on the other. This way no one should feel threatened. From the look on Peanut's face in the 2nd picture I'd say she felt differently!!

Peanut and Sophia still have a little ways to go, but Max and Peanut are becoming a cute little couple! And to our dismay, Sabo has decided to flirt with Peanut and toss Sophia to the side. Oh the drama!!

But, Sabo, Max and Sophia are enjoying looking out of their HUGE window from the "top bunk" everyday! Sophia is the best hunter, she spots all the lizards out on the front porch. Sabo and Max are a little "lax" in this area and never seem to catch them. Leave it to a women to do all the work!! :) haha They've settle in quite nicely though and are enjoying their time in the Sunshine State!!

One weekend, Brett and I decided it was time for a beach day! So we packed up the car and headed out to Anna Maria Island. I think this picture is so awesome! The water had so many awesome colors that day and the sky was very cool! However, it's not the scene a beach-goer wants to see! The storm did end up missing us, but we never really saw the sun. Luckily, we've made it the beach a few more times since then and had better luck with the weather!

So, things are good down here in sunshineville! I don't have a job, at this point we're moving in a month and no one will hire me only for me to leave in a few weeks. So I've resigned to the fact that I'll just have to force myself to enjoy Florida! :) haha In all honesty though, being unemployed is no fun and very boring! It's nice to have something to do during the day and bring in some income, but hopefully in a month when we're more stable I can get back to it!
Brett's job is going well. His contract with the Rays ends August 7th... so we're not really sure what's going on after that. He's been job hunting around here and everywhere for a full time position after his contract is up. If the Rays have an open position at that time we're hoping they'll keep him on for that. Then we'll move closer to St. Petersburg to lessen the commute and save some money on gas!! But we'll see as time gets closer! We definitely live life on the edge!!
So we'll be moving SOMEWHERE in a little over a month into our own place. It's very nice living here, the condo is great and it's really helped us out. But I know it'll be great to have our own place again and have a lot more room!
So, if you have free time, come on down and visit! I'm a great tour guide of the area! ;) We're going to Orlando this 4th of July weekend to get away and enjoy more of Florida! Plus, tomorrow, the 3rd, we're celebrating 8 years together!! So this trip is our gift to each other this year! We can't believe it's been 8 years! So we're going to Sea World, which I can only imagine will just stir up all my desires again to want to work there!! And to the Kennedy Space Center! I've never been there and Brett was very little the last time he went, so we thought that would be a fun trip!
